Solving Your Cravings for Sweetness

Asking persons in your neighborhood if they have a sweet tooth would usually result into a unanimous reply: Of course! Considering that fact, you too, may have a sweet tooth, even a whole range of sugar-loving taste buds. If that is the case, welcome to the club! Anyway, since you love sweets, there may be times wherein you just want to sink your teeth into something deliciously satisfying, and obviously, sugary. A chocolate or a candy may do it, but you feel like experimenting. In that case, be aware that so many sweet recipes exist. You may check one of them. The following is an example:

Maple candies had been a great quick sugar-problem fix to those who crave sweet delights. This recipe would surely drive water your mouth, so better prepare and get these simple ingredients: your maple syrup, lots of it; and some butter. Take not, however, that it would require real maple sugar to create the best maple candy. Maple-flavored syrups, such as those intended for pancakes, wont do great. Besides, what you are making is maple sugar candies, not maple-flavored candies. The procedures for making maple candies are so simple that they may be done no sweat. Using a double broiler, melt your maple syrup further. A double broiler would consist of a heavy-bottom saucepan filled with water with another saucepan above it. Make sure, though, that your upper saucepan is made from a good conductor, to hasten the transfer of heat. Also, take note that since maple syrups can easily liquefy, you may want to use larger saucepans. As you melt the syrup, add your butter once in a while and mix the whole blend consistently. When the butter is completely mixed, removed the upper saucepan and continue stirring until the consistency further thickens. However, you would not want your candies to solidify in your pan, so before reaching that, pour them in your greased molds. After smoothing the top part, let each candies set.

Popping the candies out from the molds would be the last step before tasting them. If you love some crunch in it, you may fold in chopped walnuts or other nuts of your choice in the maple syrup-butter mixture. So there you have it, your own maple candies.
